Celebrate The 30th Anniversary Of 1982′s Anit-Nuke Protest At The UN: Tues. June 12th

30 years ago on June 12th, 1.2 million people marched from the United Nations and gathered in Central Park to protest against nuclear energy and for nuclear disarmament.  To commemorate the beautiful memories and break through the anti-nuclear movement, we’re going to walk again.

Come to the center of Tompkins Square Park in the East Village (between Ave. A & Ave. B and between 7th St. and 9th St.) at 7:30 PM, Tuesday, June 12.  Bring your radio or boom box to the march and tune to Eco-Logic at 8 PM.  Instead of speakers and music on a stage, authors Chris Williams and Alice Slater will discuss the connections between nuclear power and weapons on WBAI, Minori Nakamura will talk about Indian Point and Fukushima and the Raging Grannies will be performing live music.
That’s Tuesday, June 12th. 7:30 PM at Tompkins Square Park and 8 PM on WBAI, 99.5FM and wbai.org.
Bring your radio. Be mobile. No Nukes!
WBAI is at 99.5 FM (right in the middle of the FM dial). or You can hear it live at http://www.wbai.org
