2.13 - 3.4 ARNIE GUNDERSON Japan Speaking Tour | Fairewinds Energy Education

In February 2012, Fukushima Daiichi: Truth And The Way Forward was released to the Japanese public by the Japanese publishing house Shueisha Inc. Written by Fairewinds' President Maggie Gundersen, Fairewinds' Chief Engineer Arnie Gundersen, and international barrister Reiko Okazaki, this book would go on to become a Japanese bestseller and serve as a beacon of truth-speak for a country of citizens looking for answers. Arnie traveled to Japan for a speaking tour alongside co-author Reiko. During August of the same year, he had a second speaking tour organized by Aileen Mioko Smith and Green Action Japan. It began at Tokyo University and included Japan’s Parliament (the Diet), the Japanese Bar Association and other venues. Now, he's going back!

Invited to speak at various universities and organized events, Arnie will be presenting in Japan on the subject of malfunctioning atomic reactors and faulty design during worst-case disaster scenarios. He will also discuss the malfeasance of both U.S. and Japanese atomic regulators in regards to how the nuclear industry has been allowed to cut corners during the construction of atomic power plants. Two other devoted truth-speakers will be presenting during this tour: Mary Olsen, a Radioactive Waste Policy Specialist from Nuclear Information and Resource Service (NIRS), and Steven Leeper, a professor of peace studies at Hiroshima Jogakuin University and former leader of the Hiroshima Peace Culture Foundation. The Fairewinds Crew extends special thanks to Peace News Japan for hosting and organizing this trip.
